A couple of weeks ago I showed you these cards that I made with some inspiration from Jennifer McGuire. A friend of mine then asked if I could make one for a wedding card for her. She wasn't sure of the wedding colors so I decided to make a whole bouquet. I had a lot of fun creating this one!
There's a video link in my link above for Jennifer McGuire's tutorial for this type of card. I'll just briefly describe it for you. My exterior vellum for this card is 5" x 7". The interior card is 4 1/4" square. The layered flowers inside are the triple step flowers from Penned and Painted. Yellows, pinks, purples and blues were used for the flowers. After they were stamped the Whisper White card was attached inside the vellum card. The vellum was laid down over the stamped interior card. Then I went to work, using Versa Mark ink stamping the outline images over the flowers and leaves. My Embossing Buddy was used a lot while working plus several masks of the flowers and leaves, made fromo post-it notes, were getting a workout too. I would stamp and emboss, then move the masks and rub the Buddy over my card before stamping again. This pretty sentiment was found in the Rose Wonder stamp set and embossed in Elegant Eggplant. I kept checking to be sure I was leaving room for the sentiment and not getting too carried away stamping flowers!
Moving inside the card I used another sentiment from Rose Wonder and another little flower from Penned & Painted.
On the very back of the card I also added another 4 1/4" square piece of Whisper White card stock to cover the adhesive. These cards are so fun to make and end up being really special too!
The weekend is upon us! Do you have big plans? Our goal is staying cool. I think the boys are going to have their Poppie take them fishing tomorrow morning. My mom, my daughter and I may take advantage of Poppie too, he's always game, and go to lunch! Whatever you do I hope it's fun!
