I know "fore" means "move out of the way I'm getting ready to hit the ball" in golf lingo and I do have a golf card for you today. The person who is on the receiving end of this card just might be saying, "Fore, it's Monday" because he's retiring at the end of the week! My husband has worked with the retiree for 25+ years and he's going to help celebrate his retirement this week. He loves golf and so my husband asked me to make a card with a golf theme for him to take, along with a gift card, of course! I knew I had found a card on Pinterest quite some time ago that would work well. The one I found was created in 2011 by Julie Kettlewell, a demonstrator in the UK, whose blog, Julie's Japes, I love! You'll find her card here. Of course, I had to change up a few things due to product retiring and I even used my Silhouette and a few other things to get it just right! Take a look...
I started with a Marina Mist card base and did my layering on top of that. Soft Sky is the sky and that makes perfect sense, doesn't it?! The clouds were cut on my Silhouette using a cloud punch I imported from My Digital Studio. I can make them any size I want to that way! I also cut the "19" for the flag on the Silhouette. I chose "19" since he's finishing up his first "18" and ready to take on something new! The trees were stamped with a Christmas set, Festival of Trees in Garden Green with Early Espresso trunks onto Pear Pizzazz card stock. They were punched out with the Tree Punch. I cut a skewer for the flag pole and added layers for the flag with the retiring Petite Pennants Builder Punch. The hole is the Large Oval Punch. The golf ball was punched with a 1" Circle Punch from Whisper White card stock that was first embossed with the retiring Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I recently purchased a little grass die from Lawn Fawn and it came in handy for the grass. Whew, I'm going to miss a lot of those retiring products! But Teeny Tiny Wishes is not going anywhere and it came to my rescue again because it's where I found the "Happy Retirement" I stamped in the cloud!
Inside I added a little more grass and a big 'ole Congratulations from Sassy Salutations! I had to leave room for the guys at my husband's office to sign the card!
Tonight is the first of my two Stamp Clubs. I've got a couple of fun projects planned and everything is cut and ready. In the meantime, my vacuum and my upstairs are calling! I hope you have a great day!
Be sure you've checked out the awesome products on the Weekly Deals this week before they change tomorrow.
