I realized that I have a lot of people in my life who are celebrating milestone birthdays this year! So far I've done a 40th, a 60th and today a 50th birthday card. Next month our daughter turns 30 (unbelievable) so I'll do a 30th and I know several other friends who are turning 60 this year. I am happy that I am NOT having a milestone birthday this year, although I suppose all birthdays could be considered milestones!
My friend Kim turns 50 today! It seems we just celebrated her 40th not too long ago. My how time flies when you're having fun! I wouldn't have forgotten her birthday but I may have forgotten it was her 50th. Thanks to her daughter who posted it on Facebook last week she'll get a 50th card. I'm sure Kim will thank her daughter herself later.
The page of candles from the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper worked really well for Kim's card. I spotted a few Basic Rhinestones around on their flames too. Brian King did this on his Design Team card for the Paper Players this week and I thought it was a great touch for a 50th birthday. When you're fifty you deserve a little bling, don't you? "50" was cut out using the Typeset Alphabet Dies and the Big Shot, of course. That's the big "bling" for Kim.
I love the sentiments from Bring on the Cake for this card. It goes along with the DSP and the birthday.
When I went to make this card I decided not to reinvent the wheel. We did one almost like it at our class Tuesday night. I just "doctored" it up a bit.
Sketched Birthday, which I used on yesterday's card, was used on this card too. I used it both on the exterior and interior.
