From the east as in this post showcases product from the new Eastern Palace Suite! After yesterday's sunflower I had to do a more traditional tag using the Eastern Palace product and some new 2017-19 In Colors. I needed a couple of thank you notes to mail to customers and here's what I came up with….
A Fresh Fig note card (3 1/2" x 5"), embossed with the current Elegant Dots embossing folder, holds a Tranquil Tide tag. My go to for making tags is the Scallop Tag Topper punch. I don't have any card stock in that funky new color, Lemon Lime Twist, so I just rubbed my ink pad across some Whisper White card stock to get the color from which my die cutting was done. The die from the Eastern Medallions Thinlit Dies that I used to cut the interior portion of this die cut only cuts the pieces which curl up. It's one of those dies that doesn't cut all the way through. But there is also a framelit die in Eastern Medallions that goes around this die cut and cuts all of this completely out. Pretty cool! The sweet stamps fit neatly in the middle circle. Before attaching the die cut to the tag I filled the back up with Stampin' Dimensionals and put some Gold Metallic Thread on top of the dimensionals before sticking it down. I'm not good at remembering to use stickers but I'm going to try to be better. The coordinating Eastern Gold stickers are really nice vinyl stickers. I cut one of the edge stickers from the package for the bottom of the tags, added a Fresh Fig Tassel with some 1/8" Gold Ribbon and that finished up my note card. I always tell my customers to re-use those tags! These have already been dropped off at the Post Office!
Here's a close up of the tag.
Monday I mentioned that I had taken the dies in the Eastern Medallion Thinlit Dies and die cut those that don't cut all the around (framelits) onto a piece of card stock. I thought I show you that piece of die cut card stock. It came in very handy for me when I was planning today's card. I could lay my stamps on them when auditioning which ones I might use! You can see the one I used for the center die cut in the bottom right. There is a framelit that cuts out around this entire die. The one above that is what I used for the Sunflower on Monday. Hope that gives you some more insight!
Thanks for coming by today and I hope your day is wonderful! - Dawn
