I'm continuing to add to my birthday card stash today! This one looks good enough to eat. :)
I'm excited about this card. I used a fun technique with Perfect Pearls that Jennifer McGuire shared on this video. She used a gorgeous flower stamp but I thought it work well for this cupcake and it did. Here's a better view of the beautiful shine the Perfect Peals gives it.
Isn't that pretty? I used Watermelon Wonder, my favorite retiring color, for the icing and the Perfect Pearls (by Ranger) really makes it shimmer. It's also used on the Daffodil Delight candle. I haven't used Sweet Cupcake as much as I should have so I'm happy it's not on the Retiring List and I can ink it up a few more times. That piece of Designer Series Paper came from the Party Animal DSP and was cut to fit the front of the Thick White card stock base. The Pool Party cupcake wrapper, icing and candle gave me the inspiration for the colors from which to cut those cute curly cues. They were attached with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Love that thing! Next I pulled out Birthday Banner for the banner! I may have to duplicate this card, maybe with a color change up, it was fun to make!
Inside the card I used a sentiment and a banner stamp from Birthday Banners along with a sentiment in Cool Treats. It was still lacking a little something so I added another curly cue along the bottom. That did the trick!
I made it, a whole week of cards! I'm planning to do it again next week too. I'll be having a fun give away one day next week and you won't want to miss it. Be sure to check out my retired product I listed today. Have a great weekend everyone! - Dawn
