I haven't stamped much at all during the past six weeks or so and my stash of cards has shrunk! I am now on a mission to build it up again. I just mailed my last April birthday card and flipped my Perpetual Birthday Calendar to May…YIKES!! There are a bunch of birthdays I need to get cards made to celebrate! So I started by making this one...
I combined two of my favorite colors, Crumb Cake card stock and the soon to retire Watermelon Wonder ink to make this card. Then there's the combination of the two colors in the piece of Specialty Designer Series Paper from Affectionately Yours, I'll definitely hate to see this go. Watercolor Wings is the stamp set I used. I've really come to like the three step stamp sets and this butterfly is made with one of those. Using Watermelon Wonder and stamping off once on grid paper I put down the first step of the butterflies. The second layer is full strength Watermelon Wonder ink and finally third layer was done with White Pigment Ink, which needs some time to dry. That flirty little sentiment is from the retiring Cottage Greetings stamp set. It was heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Of course, all of this was put right onto a Thick White card stock base, another of my favorites!
Inside the card I used another sentiment from Cottage Greetings. In hind sight I should have stamped in with Early Espresso Ink because the butterflies, from Perpetual Birthday Calendar, are stamped with Watermelon Wonder. :) As I was posting this I thought I may go back and add a piece of DSP along the side and maybe that will take care of it!
Get ready, I worked all afternoon yesterday getting tons of retired stamp sets, punches & dies ready to post FOR SALE. I never got around to doing that last year, as I usually do, because the last half of our year went very hay-wire! I am just getting around to it now as I moved things from one craft room to another I have cleaned out a lot more things. Hopefully, I will have this up tomorrow. Have a great day! - Dawn
