I watched a video by Jennifer McGuire yesterday here and gave her technique an immediate try. This was a super fun technique and card to make. Take a look….
I think this may just be one of my favorite cards I've made. I don't have a lot of background stamps right now for some reason. ;) I remembered seeing others use the Sale-A-Bration set, Delicate Details to make their own background stamp and decided to go that route too. I loaded all five images up on the largest clear block and stamped them on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Versa Mark ink. Then on went the White Embossing Powder and the heat tool brought out the bright white. Using an ink blender tool (Ranger) I went in with Flirty Flamingo ink over the embossing, adding more and more ink at the top of the card and fading out at the bottom. I inked up my card all the way down to the bottom. Then did the same routine with the "birthday wishes" image from Build a Birthday. Paper Snips were used to cut the banner tails at either end of that. Cutting out the "happy" from Hello You Thinlits with the Big Shot I left it in the Card Stock negative until I inked the "happy" up and covered it in Dazzling Diamonds Embossing Powder. I use Heat & Stick Powder before applying Dazzling Diamonds to keep those diamonds from going everywhere. After all that was completed I punched the "happy" die out from the negative space and applied glue to the back of it with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I was so happy with how it turned it!
Inside the card I used a stamp from Delicate Details along the top and bottom, stamping it in Flirty Flamingo ink. Finally I heat embossed the sentiment in white again on Flirty Flamingo card stock and cut it out with Lots of Labels Framelits.
You will definitely see me doing a card like this again. I've got some other ideas in mind for the backgrounds. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! - Dawn
