Happy New Year!! I can't believe it's 2017! I remember way back when we all were thinking like Swirly Birds with the changing of the century and who knew what would happen...YIKES! It was much calmer this year and all I was thinking about Saturday was who was going to win those college games I was concerned about. In the three games I watched, all three of my picks pulled off a win! And that was a great way to say good-bye to 2016.
Today The Stamp Review Crew is having their first hop for 2017. We've got some good stamp sets picked to review in 2017 and Swirly Bird starts us off. Just in case you have never hopped along with us before let me give you a brief run down. We're a group of International Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who all use the same stamp set for our hops. We hope you'll get lots of inspiration for using that set from hopping along with us on the first and third Monday of each month! Because we're located all around the world we start our hop unofficially on Sunday night. So if you find some links don't work yet we're giving everyone time to get it all together. If you miss anyone tonight or get lost along the way then visit the website for The Stamp Review Crew here and you'll find a full list of this week's hoppers and the rest of the scoop about the Crew.
If you didn't start hopping with my blog you may have come here from Debra Burgin's blog, Heartfelt Inkspiration. I'm sure you have already been inspired there!
I needed a birthday card and that's what I created using Swirly Bird. I had a tiny bit of help from the coordinating thinlits, Swirly Scribbles.
I kept it sweet and simple today. The scribbly lines for the branch were cut from Soft Suede card stock and trimmed off. That's where my Marina Mist bird sits holding his bright yellow balloon. I thought afterwards that it almost looks like that bird is trying to pull the sun right out of the sky. Either way that roundish stamp in Swirly Bird makes a good balloon or sun. I used the kite string stamp for the bird to pull it in with. Leaves were added to the branch with the small leaf stamp in Swirly Bird. Those sweet little flowers were stamped in Flirty Flamingo before using their matching die to cut them out, pop them up with a Stampin' Dimensional and add a Rich Razzleberry Enamel Dot to their centers. I found the sweet sentiment in Best Birds.
Inside the card I added a birthday wish found in Better Together. And this card is ready to go into the mailbox.
That's it from me today. You're ready to hop off to Tanya Boser's blog, Tinkerin' In Ink. You'll love what she's created this week.
