Picture Perfect, isn't that the perfect sentiment for this week's Thanksgiving celebrations here in the U.S.? We'd all like a picture perfect Thanksgiving Day. Are you hopping with The Stamp Review Crew for the first time. Just in case you are, I'll tell you a little bit about us and then if you'd like to know more just click the banner above or this link and you'll be at The Stamp Review Crew site for all the info and a full list of this week's hoppers. Our hop is a little different because we're a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world AND we all make our cards for each hop using the same stamp set. We hope you'll find lots of inspiration for using Picture Perfect on this week's hop.
If you haven't started with me then you may have come from the amazing Rochelle Blok's blog, The Stamping Blok.
I had not tried the starfish image in this stamp set yet so that's what I've used here.
Besides not having used this starfish stamp yet I was also inspired by an article I was reading in my new Southern Living magazine about Seaside Beach. I'm ready for a trip to the beach, even in the winter. Tip Top Taupe is the base for this card and I haven't pulled any of it out in awhile either. Starfish were stamped onto the base using Tip Top Taupe ink. Some shimmery flecks were added by watering down some Gold Wink of Stella on an acrylic block and flicking it onto the card and boy does it look pretty. Choosing the 5/8" Burlap Ribbon, some Dapper Denim ribbon and the Kraft Rope Trim the layers were added on which to place the Calypso Coral starfish. I couldn't decide where to place the sentiment because I really didn't want to add anything else to the card so it's stamped in Dapper Denim ink right onto the card base.
I left the inside of the card pretty plain, with plenty of room for note writing, and just stamped a couple of partial starfish images along the edges.
Thanks for visiting today. Now you're all ready to hop along now and you'll be going to My Papercraft Journey, the very talented Kelly Kent's blog.
