I cannot believe it's the middle of September and time for another blog hop with The Stamp Review Crew. If you haven't hopped with us before I'll briefly tell you that we're a group of International Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who hop on the first and third Monday of each month. What makes us a little bit different is that we all use the same stamp set to create our projects. To read more about us click the link above. That link is also useful in case you get lost along the way because it's where you'll find a full list of this week's hoppers that you can use to get back on track.
If you haven't started with me then you may have come from Holly Stene's blog, Holly's Hobbies. She always has something super fun to share.
I had to put my thinking cap on for this hop! Those images in Timeless Texture are fun to pair with other stamp sets for sure, but I was trying to think of a different way of using it for this hop. I came up with two things to try. One of them worked and the other…not so much. Here's the one that did.
A Christmas card was created with the flourish image. All sorts of color combinations would be fun to try for this card. I decided to use heat embossed images in Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder. I also used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for this one. I had to stamp the image one time upside down to make it work. My Embossing Buddy was used between each embossing session to keep stray powder from sticking to the Night of Navy card stock. Then I decided to mix it up and use Gold Stampin' Emboss powder for the Christmas tree stump, another image in Timeless Textures. The UPS man arrived with just in time for me to finish off this card with a gold star and the sentiment from Star of Light, which was in my box he delivered.
Inside the card I repeated the silver embossing and added another sentiment from Star of Light.
That does it for me and you're ready to hop along to Paper Conversations, Mickey Roberts blog. I can't wait to see what Mickey's created this week!
