I've not caught the coloring craze, have you? There are coloring books everywhere I look though. I loved to color as a kid but just can't get into it now. I even hesitate to purchase line image stamps but the Basket of Wishes stamp set in the Holiday Catalog caught my eye so I ordered it. I pulled it out yesterday and stamped several of the images on watercolor paper and had fun experimenting with markers and colors. I used the sketch over at the Paper Players this week by my friend Nancy Leedy. It will be a "go to" sketch for me! You'll have to click the image below to get the Paper Players blog because Typepad is not letting me highlight words to insert a link today!
I love this little produce basket of succulents. I picture these baskets in bright colors now that you can find these made from ceramics in so many shops. I have a hard time resisting them. I chose Crushed Curry for this basket. Then the succulents were colored in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Mint Macaron and Wild Wasabi. Then a little highlight was added with Soft Sky and washed out with an Aqua Painter. I wasn't really quite sure what I was going to do with this until I saw this week's Paper Player's sketch. I love the tiny scallop edges peeking out from behind the succulent basket. The Bermuda Bay brings out the blues in the succulents. Instead of adding the second panel I used the basket image and stamped a stack of them to the side. I like them in Bermuda Bay too. I can't grow house plants but at least I know these will stay green!
Inside the card I added a scrap of Designer Series Paper to one side and a sweet sentiment from Love & Affection.
August is almost over so if you have any Coupons you earned in July you'll want to be sure to use those before Thursday. And the Thoughtful Branches stamp set is only available to purchase through Wednesday.
I did get apple picking over the weekend! We did come home with Honey Crisps, yum! We ate some apple doughnuts and had cider slushies during a rain storm. It couldn't have been more perfect! I hope whatever you did it was perfect too! Thanks for coming by today and have a great day. - Dawn
