It's the first Monday of March, already, and time for another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. They're always so much fun and we're glad you're joining us this week. We're a group of international Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who hop on the first and third Monday of each month. We all use the same stamp set to bring lots of inspiration for using it. Believe me, I'm inspired each month! If you get off track along the way just click the banner above to you'll be at The Stamp Review Crew page where you'll find a full list of hoppers for this week to get you moving again. If you hop on Sunday night you may run into a few glitches, as we work out any kinks we may have. But we should all be up and running on Monday.
If you aren't starting to hop with me you may have come here from Rubberredneck, Holly Krautkremer's blog. Holly always has some amazing projects!
This hop was perfect timing for me! We received an invitation to an 80th birthday party for a long time friend and one of the most special people we know. It's next weekend and unfortunately, we can't attend. His wife asked for cards to in lieu of gifts with a special memory about the birthday boy! My husband and I were talking about which stories we'd write and there are lots so I've got to narrow it down. Anyway, I used Number of Days and the coordinating framelits to make his card. I also used the invitation for my design inspiration.
Barnwood is perfect for this birthday card and that was the invitation too. Larry was brought up on a farm and always had horses when we lived in the same town. The Hardwood Background stamp gave me the look I wanted. The Balloons Framelits were used to cut out the the balloon for the shaker and the Dazzling Details banners. I filled the shaker with various black and silver sequins from the Metallics Sequins Assortment plus a few other sequins I had in my stash. I stamped "HAPPY" from Number of Years on the Window Sheet over the shaker in Staz-on Ink. The 80 cut from Silver Glimmer Paper is the star of the show! You might need a little reminder when you're 80 so I made it big! :)
Inside the card I used the Confetti Star Border Punch and a sentiment from Number of Years, which I love! I had to lay this card down to get a photo of the inside because the front is pretty thick and doesn't easily fold over.
You're done here and ready to hop on to Inch of Creativity, Martha Inchley's blog. She's sure to have another great project to share just like she always does!
