The first Monday in August, can it be? It can and it is! Of course, that also means it's also the Monday for another blog hop with The Stamp Review Crew which happens the first and third Monday of every month. In case you're hopping on Sunday evening you may not find everyone's link up and live yet. We leave Sunday to "get it together" but by Monday you should hop through without any issues. If you get lost along the way click the link above and you'll find a full list of hoppers on The Stamp Review Crew site.
You may have hopped over from Nikki Spencer's blog, My Sandbox. Isn't she an awesome stamper!? Or you may have started here, either way be sure to hop all the way around today.
As the title says, this week we're reviewing Crazy About You! I am crazy about this set and find myself going to it more and more often. When I got ready to make today's card though I had a hard time coming up with something. So I took my catalog to bed with me and studied the set. Anyone else do that? Something finally "popped" into my mind. Of course, it didn't end up the exact way it popped in, but it's pretty close.
I love the mix-ability of this set! Focusing on the word "YOU" and the other pieces of sentiments that went with the "YOU" is the direction I went for today's hop. The coordinating thinlits, Hello You, had a "you" die that I used too. My first thought was to stamp the sayings directly onto the Thick White Card Stock but after messing up a couple of times I went with the banner method. :) Each "YOU" is heat embossed in Black Stampin' Emboss Powder and the other part of the sentiment stamped in a bright color. After I had the stamping complete I cut out the banners and popped each one up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Actually, I used the edge pieces from a full sheet of Dimensionals for this part. Five die cut "you"s were stacked up and held together with a 2-way glue pen for the top of the card and a little strip of Washi Tape from the Everyday Chic Washi Tape rounded it off.
Inside the card I used the Alphabet Rotary Stamp for my sentiment along with one more die cut.
Alrighty, you're ready to hop along to Stampin-Style, Mike Funke's blog. Mike always amazes me with his clever takes on each hop! Let's go see what he's done today!
