It's hard to believe but it's the first Monday in May already! The first Monday of any month means it's time for another Stamp Review Crew blog hop. In case you haven't hopped with us before I'll fill you in about our hop. We're a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who hop on the first and third Monday of each month. We all use the same stamp set to create our projects. On today's hop you'll get a lot of inspiration for using your Basic Butterfly stamps and dies! If you get off track at any time just click on the link above and you'll find a full list of this week's hoppers at The Stamp Review site.
If you haven't started with me this week you've probably come from The Stamping Blok, Rochelle Blok's blog. Rochelle's work always amazes me!
Today, can you say "ombré, ombré, ombré"? That's what I have for you…lots of ombré!
Oh my, I have never cut and stamped so many variations before deciding what I was going to actually use on this card! I threw a lot of stamped images and dies in the recycle bin anyway. I started by stamping the honeycomb image in ombré yellow tones by using So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Hello Honey inks. The next set of ombré images are the green ferns. All three fern images were stamped off first, onto my Grid Paper. The ombré tones go from Pistachio Pudding to Wild Wasabi and end with Garden Green. The butterflies are stamped in Soft Sky, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana. I trimmed off all the white edges and layered them on coordinating card stock butterflies of the same color. Finally, I went to the "pinks" for the other embellishments. Even though they're not right next to one another I used Pink Pirouette, Strawberry Slush and Melon Mambo. Whew! Those butterflies have flown off in the mail already!
For the inside I used one shade of each color: Pink Pirouette, Pool Party and Hello Honey..
You'll be hopping along now to the blog of Shana Gaff at Stress-Free Stamping with Shana. I'm ready to hop over there for some of Shana's inspiration myself! Be sure not to miss a single blog!
